Central to the mission of Paul VI is the formation of the whole person in the light of Christ’s love and truth. To that end, we provide retreats as opportunities to grow more intentionally in the areas of virtue, community, prayer, and the sacraments (Acts 2:42).
Retreats are a special time to step back from the craziness of our day-to-day lives, and they prompt students to reflect on life’s most important questions: “Who am I?,” “What is my Story?” “Who is God?” “How do I pray?” and “Where am I going?”
Students on retreat learn that God’s love encounters us through His Son Jesus’ Passion, Death and Resurrection. Jesus’ Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist and His Mercy found in confession are at the heart of our retreats, and in these sacraments, students are drawn closer to God and those around them.
All freshmen and sophomores are required to attend their respective "LIVE+JESUS Days" and "LIVE+JESUS Pilgrimage" offered during the school year.
All juniors are required to attend their Junior Retreat. This retreat is a prerequisite to register for senior year classes. The Junior Retreat is a three-day retreat in which our students are able to step away from the noise of the world and their busy schedules to listen to God’s voice. It is a time to grow in faith, fellowship, and fun with classmates. Many students have described it as one of their favorite experiences at PVI, from which they grew deeper in their relationships with God and others.
Rising seniors who are responsible, faithful, and energetic are invited to apply for the PVI Retreat Team! The senior leaders live by high moral standards, using their God-given gifts and talents to build up our PVI community. These leaders facilitate small groups, develop leadership skills, and share the Catholic faith with others.
- Mark 6:31
Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.
Heath, Class of 2026
The most impactful part of the retreat for me was the small group discussions because I learned things about my classmates that I would have never learned otherwise.
