PVI Students Compete in Cheer for Charity

Alayna Brown ’25, Parker Lee ’28, and Avery Waldrop ’24, students from the Options program, are members of the Phoenix Blaze Elite Cheer team. Blaze, a special abilities cheer team, took first place in their bracket at the Cheer for Charity event March 8-9, 2025 in Virginia Beach.
The girls lit up the stage and landed first place in their event!

Coached by Holly Senn, Alayna has been cheering with Phoenix Elite since she was six years old. Blaze competes with other special abilities teams in MD, DC and VA, in the competition bracket. PVI alumna Avery Waldrop ’24 and freshman Parker Lee ’28 are also cheerleaders with Phoenix Blaze and Lori Richardson ’26, another PVI senior is a junior coach for the team!

Fun fact - The “Blaze” was invited to cheer during the basketball halftime show at Robinson High School.
