PVI Student Attends Virginia Space Coast Scholars Program

This summer, Annabelle Eggers '26 participated in the Virginia Space Coast Scholars program.
"I highly recommend this program to anyone willing to work hard to open new opportunities for themselves," shares Annabelle.

Students completed an online course during the school year and the top performers were invited to the summer academy for a week. The academy had five different platform teams to choose from scientific balloons, sounding rockets, airborne science, small satellites, and expendable launch vehicles. Students were assigned a role and throughout the week the teams designed a mission and presented it. They also had the opportunity to tour the Wallops Flight Facility and work with subject matter experts.

"In this program, not only did I grow in knowledge and research skills, but also soft skills like public speaking, communication, and networking. I can confidently say I know people who would be willing to put in a good word for me if I chose to work at NASA, and that means a lot to me. I gained so much from this experience and hope to continue in the VAST program this year."
