Mrs. Christine Collier

Mrs. Christine Collier is the Mathematics Department Chair.
Originally from Rockville, Maryland, Mrs. Collier attended the University of Chicago and George Mason to earn a BA and MS in Mathematics and a MAT in Teaching of Mathematics.

She previously worked at the University of Chicago Laboratory High School. Her hobbies include swimming, running, wallyball, reading, and crewel, a type of embroidery.

Mrs. Collier shares that St. Mary is her favorite saint because “she is always gently present in my joy and sorrow.” Her favorite lesson to teach is the Koch Snowflake Curve because the results are beautiful and counterintuitive.

Her favorite quote is from Galileo Galilei, “Mathematics is the language in which God has written the universe.” Something she likes about PVI is “the community — we look out for one another and help each other become the very best versions of ourselves.”
