Mrs. Kathleen Leffas is a Theology teacher.
Mrs. Leffas grew up in Fairfax City, Virginia.
She attended Franciscan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, received a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University Maryland, and also a Master of Theology from Christendom College.
Mrs. Leffas previously taught at Seton Keough High School in Baltimore, MD. When Mrs. Leffas isn’t teaching Theology at PVI, she is a “Soccer/Irish Dance/Track/Swim/Rugby Mom” ;), traveling to Canada to be with my extended family, just hanging out with my husband whenever we can, hiking, kayaking, reading (especially to my kids), watching British period dramas, and having coffee with friends.
She says, "The Blessed Mother is my number one saint. Mary is, after all, the Queen of Heaven and Earth. But after her, St. Joseph is my favorite. His humble, faithful service to Jesus and Mary is a model. Our family has a great devotion to St. Joseph, and he is my go-to guy. His prayers of intercession are very powerful. But if I'm being honest, I have a special relationship with many saints. The Communion of Saints is one of the awesome things about being Catholic!”
Mrs. Leffas says, “My favorite lesson to teach is the lesson on defining love. Hearing the students' examples of sacrificial love in their lives, both big and small, is really moving. It has helped me grow by making me more aware of the need to love in and through the daily tasks.”
Her favorite quote is, “Man cannot fully find himself, except through a sincere gift of himself."- Gaudium et Spes.
What she likes best about PVI is the sense of connection and the feeling of being part of a family. Also loves that we strive to Live Jesus and bring greater love for the Blessed Sacrament through Mass and Adoration. And, of course, she loves our students, who are full of life, and give her hope and joy.
