Science Hall Named After Dr. Claude Moore

St. Paul VI Catholic High School is honored to name their science hallway after Dr. Claude Moore to further his philosophy on education, the sciences, and philanthropy.
On Thursday, May 30, 2024, a significant event unfolded at St. Paul VI Catholic High School. Representatives from the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation, members of the Paul VI Administration and Science Department, and the Diocese of Arlington Office of Catholic Schools gathered. Interim chaplain Fr. Ramón Domínguez, YA, blessed the sign, doorway, and hallway, marking a new chapter in the school' history. Trustee for the foundation, Mr. Randolph Sutliff, and his wife Ann, parents of three Paul VI graduates, cut the ribbon of the doorway. Paul VI junior Alexis Boland shared her science classroom experiences, noting, “Chemistry fostered my love for science by showing me that anything can be made enjoyable in the right environment.”

St. Paul VI Catholic High School is grateful for the generous donation of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation. The foundation believes that a rigorous science education provides a “leg up” because it is the groundwork needed to pursue careers in high-demand STEM fields such as healthcare. The foundation is excited about this gift because it truly fulfills Dr. Moore’s philanthropic vision to enhance educational opportunities in the Commonwealth and beyond.
