Fr. Dougherty OSFS, Beloved Educator and Priest, Dies at 87

Father William Dougherty OSFS, beloved educator and priest, passed away on July 6, 2024.
Fr. Doc taught at PVI from 1983-1992. During his time at PVI, he made such an impact on his students. Anne-Marie Dumas Grim '89 shared these words, "What a wonderful brilliant man. So grateful to have learned from him at PVI in 1980s. He taught the subjects that seemed to matter the most, and did so with courage, humility, patience, and humor. He had a brilliant intellect, and yet related well to teenagers, whose intellects were just developing! He could hold our interest effortlessly, and he covered subject matter like near death experience, that was then still in it's early stages of research. We were enthralled. What a privilege it was to be his student! May he be welcomed into the kingdom, a good and faithful servant of Christ!"
