OPENINGS for the 2017-2018 school year:  

Paul VI Catholic High School (Fairfax, VA) is searching for our next Dean of Academics.

The Dean of Academics is a 12-month, full-time administrative position starting July 1, 2017.  The Dean of Academics reports to and works with the Principal who serves as the Director of Instruction.  The Dean is a visionary leader who will help propel the school as it transitions.  As an academic leader, the dean is an expert communicator who is well versed in curriculum design, best practices, teacher development, and teacher observation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: working and planning with department chairpersons and teachers to provide a quality curriculum for all students, managing the Academic Office to oversee grading, report cards, student schedules, semester examinations, placement exams, course selection process, and other academic responsibilities; serve as the point of contact for parent, student, and teacher academic concerns; and coordinate dual enrollment courses.


The best candidates will meet the following qualifications:

-Practicing Catholic in good standing with a commitment to Gospel values, the teachings of St. Francis de Sales, and the mission of our school

-Master’s Degree in Education preferred

-Virginia State Teaching License with endorsement in Administration & Supervision or be eligible to obtain this endorsement within two years

-Three or more years’ experience in a supervisory, administration, or department chairperson role

-Minimum of five years teaching experience

-Commitment to professional development and ongoing formation of teachers
