Paul VI Catholic High School is hiring additional on-call substitute teachers.  Substitutes serve when classroom teachers are out.  Subs primarily distribute assignments and proctor assessments.  Subs are usually contacted at 6:30 am for a same day need. Substitutes must be responsible, organized, willing to work in a Christ-centered environment, and enjoy working with teenagers. This is part-time work, on-call for the day as needed by the school. A background check is required in addition to Diocese of Arlington VIRTUS training. Proof of a current negative TB test is also required. Paul VI Catholic High School is seeking a full-time Special Education teacher for our PVI Options Program, a program serving high school students with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities. Please review our social media accounts to learn more about this innovative, nationally recognized program (see below for links). Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to inclusion of students with intellectual disabilities in Catholic schools, an ability to adapt to the needs of students quickly and effectively, a desire to work within a collaborative team, and a willingness to use a variety of teaching strategies and methods in their instruction while also integrating technology (1:1 laptop school) within their classroom.  Experience with behavior management is preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a relevant field (Special Olympics, Therapeutic Recreation, ABA therapy, Speech therapy, adaptive PE, classroom teaching, tutoring, etc.) is required. Candidates must have a B.S. or B.A. degree. We prefer candidates with a Master’s Degree in Special Education, or a related field. A Virginia teaching license in Special Education is also preferred.  Interested candidates should submit a cover letter with references, resume, and written personal philosophy of Catholic education to Mr. Opfer, our Dean of Academics, at topfer@paulvi.net  and complete an application with the Diocese of Arlington's Office of Catholic Schools at http://arlingtondiocese.org/catholicschools/employment.php
