SPECIAL EDUCATION (FULL TIME)
Paul VI Catholic High School is seeking a full-time Special Education teacher for our PVI Options Program, a program serving high school students with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities. Please review our social media accounts to learn more about this innovative, nationally recognized program (see below for links). Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to inclusion of students with intellectual disabilities in Catholic schools, an ability to adapt to the needs of students quickly and effectively, a desire to work within a collaborative team, and a willingness to use a variety of teaching strategies and methods in their instruction while also integrating technology (1:1 laptop school) within their classroom. Experience with behavior management is preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a relevant field (Special Olympics, Therapeutic Recreation, ABA therapy, Speech therapy, adaptive PE, classroom teaching, tutoring, etc.) is required. Candidates must have a B.S. or B.A. degree. We prefer candidates with a Master’s Degree in Special Education, or a related field. A Virginia teaching license in Special Education is also preferred.
