2010 VISAA CHAMPIONS
TEAM WINS VIRGINIA INDEPENDENT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Panthers are the current Virginia Independent Schools (VIS) State Champion. A member of the ultra competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC), the Panthers also compete for the VIS championship. Widely considered one the best high school soccer leagues in the country, the WCAC typically has numerous teams ranked among the top programs in the region and country. Annually, the conference sends various student athletes to top NCAA Division 1 soccer programs. Over the last five years the Panthers were WCAC Tournament runner up in 2006 and semifinalists in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In addition to being the current VIS State Champions, they were quarterfinalists in 2006 and 2009 and semifinalists in 2008. As the #3 seed in 2008, the Panthers lost in penalty kicks to the undefeated and eventual state champion. Read more in the November 15 Pressbox and the Richmond Times Dispatch.
