Students will aquire basic knowledge of the major concepts of science and be able to use science-related skills to help them navigate in a world where new scientific frontiers open every day.
Freshmen choose between Earth/Physical Science and Scientific Methodology. Sophomores take Biology; juniors take Chemistry. Seniors should take Physics. Electives are offered in Marine Biology, Physical Oceanography, Astronomy, Dual Enrollment Biology, and Advanced Placement Chemistry.
Most colleges require two credits in a laboratory science. All levels of biology, chemistry, and physics courses meet this requirement.
PVI graduation requirements include 3 credits of science.
