Welcome to the Mathematics & Computer Science Department
We have developed a program that challenges and meets the needs of students at all levels. It is our goal to challenge the mathematically talented student as well as to provide a solid foundation for all students.
Freshman are placed in math courses based on their performance on the High School Placement Test and in junior high math courses. A student placed in an honors level course must maintain at least a B average in order to register for an honors level course the following year. To move up to an honors level course, a student must have an A average in the current math course and the current teacher's recommendation.
Our mathematics electives include AP Statistics, AP Calculus, and Finite Mathematics.
Computer science courses are designed to encourage and challenge the students to grow in critical thinking, algorithm development, and programming skills. We offer a variety of computer science courses including: Robotics, Visual Basic Programming, Honors Java Programming and AP Computer Science A.
